Sahih International
Their example is that of one who kindled a fire, but when it illuminated what was around him, Allah took away their light and left them in darkness [so] they could not see.
Last four verses bring about the miserable predicament of
hypocrites with two extended similes
v
Two examples divide hypocrites into two kinds of
men
Ø
Disbelief with deep roots so little inclination
towards Islam but pretended to be Muslims for worldly motives
§
Quran:- man who found light again loses it and
left in darkness
Ø
On the other hand , those who recognize Islam as
truth and sometimes wished to be genuine Muslims but worldly interests would
not allowed them to do so and remain perpetual hesitation and doubt
§
Quran:- men caught in thunderstorm who move
forward step or two when there is a flash of lightening but when it’s over
again get stuck
In these parables, the hypocrites have also been warned that
they are not beyond the POWER OF ALLAH SWT He can as He likes take away their
sight and hearing and even destroy them..
